February is Heart Month!  

Each February, NHLBI and The Heart Truth® celebrate American Heart Month by motivating Americans to adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent heart disease. Research shows that we’re more successful at meeting personal health goals when we join forces with others. Get Active

No hypocrisy here!  If you haven’t made this a priority in 2020.  Then Get off your bottom and walk, dance, or run.  Trust me, I know its difficult to keep up.  However, the benefits of being active far outweigh null intentions.   Seriously, I get it!  Making time to be Active is hard for everyone.  But you know heart disease, diabetes, or stroke is much worse.  That’s why you’ll find me and the “Big Guy” walking all over Orlando.  Be no hypocrite, and get going if you don’t already.  To help you out here are 10 Simple Ways to get Active.  Make it personal and stick with it.     

Moving more is one of the easiest ways you can lower your risk of getting heart disease. Not sure where to begin? This fact sheet can give you ideas on how to move more and stay motivated while you make physical activity part of your healthy routine.

Eating Healthy

Now, I must say when it comes to Eating Healthy, Americans have gotten smarter.  From healthy food shows, blogs, and social media blasts, Eating Healthy Topics are flooding us every day.  However, I’m not qualified to tell you how to get this done effectively for you.  So, I’ll just share a bit of how I consistently eat healthy.  For starters, I choose something I’ve overdone within the year then give it up as a New Years Resolution.  For instance, in 2019 I ate far too much-fried food. So here in 2020, no fried foods for me!  There is so much out there these days.. VeganVegetarian… Eat Right For Your Body Type etc. Ultimately, whatever you choose make sure its really good for you. I know…I know… I know, it may not always taste good.  Well, that’s fine too. 

Reduce Stress

C’mon guy!  We live in Florida!  With some of the most serene bodies of water all around us.  No, we don’t have mountains, and yes Central Florida is crowded.  However, we are surrounded by the Love of God – Most apparent in our Oceans!  You don’t need a summer day to hit up the Coast.  Sometimes, I don’t even get out of the car!  I can just sit there and watching and listening to the waves crash in. Over and Over again…If this is not a stress reducer, then tell me what is.
